Olivia Perrine is an intern who will be receiving her Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Radford University this upcoming summer. She works with young children, adolescents, and teenagers, striving to make both her clients and their caregivers feel supported, and further collaborating with them to turn small changes into big differences. She has extensive experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as children who are preschool and elementary aged.

Olivia utilizes primarily a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach that is grounded in genuineness, compassion, and promoting independence. There are opportunities for play during sessions, as well as meaningful, introspective conversation and application. Her therapeutic approach implements the assessment of behavioral and mental patterns, psychoeducation, and teaching tools for emotional regulation. She prioritizes setting realistic goals, and collaborating with caregivers to build a team of support centering around the client.

Olivia’s clinical areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, maladaptive behaviors, social skills, and emotional regulation. She is passionate about teaching clients and caregivers the mental health tools that will allow the client to become more independent, as well as giving clients and caregivers the opportunity to feel validated in their perspectives and experiences. She believes that every person’s mental health journey is unique, and to be a part of this journey is a privilege she will handle with care and compassion.
