Aimee Hamm is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She graduated from Radford University in 2016 with an Advanced Standing Masters in Social Work degree. Aimee grew up in Botetourt County and has lived and worked in the Roanoke area for over 20 years. Before pursuing a graduate degree Aimee enjoyed 20+ years in the Early Childhood Development field. Managing child care programs; advocating for quality care of children with Developmentally Appropriate Practices and providing educational workshops for teachers and parents promoting best outcomes for children. After Grad School, Aimee developed her skills as a Medical Social Worker to NeuroTrauma patients. Then pioneered a position in the Emergency Department addressing psychosocial issues; identifying barriers and creating solutions for psychiatric patients and collaborating with physicians, nurses and support staff for safe appropriate discharge plans. She then transitioned to an adult inpatient psychiatric unit completing psychosocial assessments; coordinating with families as appropriate; providing group and individual therapy and implementing safe effective discharge plans by connecting patients to outpatient supports.
Her clinical areas of focus include behavioral issues/conduct disorders, school related referrals, ADHD, anxiety and adjustment disorders in children ages 4 years and older. And Depression, Anxiety, PTSD/Trauma related issues, Grief and loss, Relationship/marital Issues, Stress Management and General Life Stressors for adults.
